For some reason, I had a harder than expected time getting through this book, and I didn't much care for the Rachel/Ivy/Jenks dynamic. It has problems with pacing. The eponymous ruins don't even make an appearance until 9/10ths of the way through, and since that is by far the best section the whole book feels like a waste....more
