The author's first poetry collection since her Selected Poems were published in 2002 - comprising three sections of which the first, I CHINA AM, is a sequence in response to her experiences of South East Asia. The second consists of poems written in response to bereavement, and the last is a set of other poems written over the past seven years. Besides many volumes of poetry, she has published critical essays and art criticism, edited The Virago Book of Love Poetry, and has written books on Sylvia Townsend Warner and Valentine Ackland, and on women saints (with Sara Maitland).
