4 STARS💍
- Spoiler Alert -
I’ve finally finished the fourth book in the Wolf Hotels series. I’ve been so busy with these last few weeks of summer holidays coming to an end, so it’s taken me a while to complete this book, but I’m so glad that I’ve finished it now!
In the previous book, Henry receives a phone call that his father is ill, and his health is only going to go downhill from here. Henry and Abbi fly out to New York to prepare for his father’s funeral arrangements.
We all know that Henry’s relationship with his mother has been pretty much nonexistent. She left him, when he was still very young, and for that he will always resent her, understandably so. I can only imagine what that would feel like. But what’s probably worse than that, is seeing your mother after so many years, at your father’s funeral - which is exactly what happens to Henry here. Henry started opening up to Abbi, and showing some emotions about how he yearns for the affection that he did not receive from his mother. He also says that he’s sad that his father passed away, since he was the only family that Henry truly had left (considering Henry doesn’t get along with his brother, Scott).
Afterwards, Henry finds out that he actually received the rights to all of his father’s properties, shares, and assets. At this time, he also found out that Scott isn’t even his biological brother (I know, this book has plot twist after plot twist). Henry and Abbi also find out that Scott was the one who was responsible for Henry’s father’s death. (???)
After Scott finds out that Henry and Abbi know it was him who killed Henry’s father, he goes to Henry’s apartment because he knows that Abbi will be there by herself. He tries to rape Abbi, but luckily Henry’s housekeeper is there and hits Scott as a means of protecting Abbi, and ends up killing him. Scott was responsible for so much stress and unhappiness in their lives, so it was such a relief that he could no longer do that anymore.
Once Abbi feels a bit better, she and Henry fly out to Wolf Cove Alaska, which is something Abbi is super excited about since she has been meaning to go back there for a while. She gets to meet her old friends, co-workers, and roommates which is a blast, despite the drama that comes along with it.
While they are in Alaska, it is Henry’s birthday. Abbi decides to bake a cake in the wood stove oven at Henry’s grandparents lodge, since it is something that his grandma used to do for him when he was younger. However, while Abbi is preparing the cake, an earthquake occurs. While she, Connor, and Ronan (they were helping her set up the surprise) evacuate the building, they hear from the others that Henry was in a mine at the time of the earthquake, which collapsed.
Abbi is so worried when she hears this news. She cannot fathom what would become of her if something bad were to happen to Henry. She doesn’t eat or sleep until she hears good news, and even Margo had to fly in to Alaska to give Abbi some company. Luckily, Henry is safe, all thanks to Connor and Ronan, who helped him escape from the mine.
On a more positive note, Abbi has been expanding her soap business, which is now called Farm Girl Soaps. She received help from Margo and Henry, who assisted her in getting her soaps approved by Nordstrom and other companies, as well as helped her find clients. She also had a bunch of photoshoots and advertisements done, which is definitely a big step for somebody like Abbi!
While Margo is in Alaska, she wants to have some fun. Her, Ronan, Connor, Abbi, and Henry go on an excursion, where they end up in a hot tub, partaking in some sexual activities. While Connor and Margo stay behind at the pool, Ronan actually ends up joining Henry and Abbi back in their hotel room, for a fantastic (to say the least) night.
Henry proposes to Abbi, and she of course, agrees. He did it in such a non-traditional way, where he didn’t go on one knee, and literally just slid the ring on her finger and then asked the big question AFTER. Makes sense for a guy like Henry Wolf though, right?
Also, it was so nice to see that Abbi’s mother has finally grown to accept Henry into their family, after much convincing from the reverend and the other community members. She now knows that Henry is actually a good guy, and not just using her daughter for his own benefits.
Although I’ve completed the first four books of the series, there is actually one more companion book, which is all about Ronan! Ronan is just one of those characters where you want to know more about, so I CANNOT wait to read about him!! I definitely want to find out more about his past, and hopefully see where his future will lead him!
If you are looking for a new series to read, which has LOADS of steamy scenes, some touchy topics, as well tons of drama, look no further! x
