This book consists of battlefield photos of various SS groups/units. Particularly chilling are the photos that show the part the Waffen SS played in the invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939. The difference between the Allgemeine SS and the Waffen SS is briefly explained. This would be a good introduction to this infamous group that continues to be the image so many think of when they hear the word Nazi.
