Feeling the Heat: Part One

Rate this book
Becoming an omega wasn’t on her birthday list.
Neither was meeting a pack that turns her life upside down.

All Camille wanted was a fun night out to celebrate her 40th and getting to an age where she’s comfortable in her skin and content with her life. Too bad she got the world’s worst birthday present—a surprise first heat.

A trip to the local clinic confirms the impossible. She’s not a beta, but a very late-revealing omega. An anomaly. With no time to ease into her new designation, she ends up getting a knot-filled crash course on heats.

After one too many failed attempts, Ambrose, Jackson, and River have given up on finding an omega for their pack. That is until silver fox alpha doctor Ambrose’s scent match wanders into the omega clinic he works at.

When she selects bubbly beta Jackson to help with her heat, it seems like fate. Even River, the quiet, brooding alpha who is the most reluctant to risk ruining their pack, agrees they should court her.

But just as she’s coming to terms with being an omega—and learning to embrace Ambrose and Jackson’s unexpected interest in her—Camille’s first meeting with River is total disaster.

Can they find a way to continue their courtship, or will the stubborn alpha ruin any chance of forming their perfect pack?

Feeling the Heat: Part One is a why choose, later-in-life MMMF omegaverse romance with a plus sized reluctant omega FMC and a pack of green flag MMCs that are obsessed with her—and each other! Expect lots of spice (with sword crossing), emotional and cozy vibes, and a cliffhanger ending that will lead to a HEA in Feeling the Heat: Part Two.

Part of the Blossomverse Omegaverse co-created by Allegra Hall and Emily Antoinette.

Did I finish this in less than 24 hours...yes I did. Did the cliffhanger make me want throw my tablet at the wall ..also yes. I loved everything about this book from the FMC being 40 and becoming an Omega and dealing with everything that comes with that. To how she meets he scent matches. There's drama both internal and external that just had me hooked. And of course the spice was spicin. I need part 2 immediately!!!!!

4 ⭐️ So what do you do if you present as an Omega in your 40th birthday party?

This could have been a lot worst, but I honestly didn't love the interruption, cliffhanger whatever you want to call it in the middle of the story basically.

Jackson and Ambrose are soooo cute, but River just kept pissing me off. Not that I didn't get it, but the whole miscommunication thing, refusing to just have a conversation with the people who are supposed to be your family?? I get it, but it still makes me soooo mad!

I'm ovbiously already reading Part 2 lol. We'll see how things shake up in there!

ARC review
Camille was such an awesome character. She was 40, a newly presenting omega, and 0% excited about it. She was attracted to Mr daddy doctor and Jackson, but so conflicted. Jackson had all the himbo energy and was awesome at breaking the tension. I loved that he had his own insecurities despite his muscly body. Ambrose was precious AF and I simultaneously want to shield him from the world and be protected by him. River was anxious and tended to hide his emotions. I always appreciate some solid disability rep and his arthritis back pain was handled well (not that I’d expect less from Emily ofc). The cliffhanger is killlliiiiinnnnnngggggg me, but it’s worth the wait for answers!

Spice: 5/5

Triggers: anxiety/panic, feelings of inadequacy, ageism (FMC, not from MMCs), designation based discrimination, sexual harassment, workplace harassment, body image issues, chronic pain/arthritis, parental neglect, emotional abuse (side character), side character discloses MCs medical info without consent, misogyny, discussion of past pet owner wanting to euthanize for convenience

Hmmmm…no.

**SPOILERS**

Camille is out celebrating her 40th birthday when she starts producing “slick” and realizes she’s a VERY LATE presenting omega. Happy birthday to her indeed. She goes to the omega clinic to find heat partners because her heat is coming and she has absolutely no idea how to be an omega. The doctor that examines her turns out to be her scent match and he basically resists the violent urge to rut her because he can’t believe he has found his scent matched omega at the age of 48 AND he has an alpha lover already. Camille chooses a beta to help her through her heat, Jackson, but lo and behold the beta is part of the alpha doctor’s pack. Midway through the heat Doctor Ambrose is called in to help Camille and the rest of the heat is successful. After the heat Ambrose and Jackson decide they want to court Camille and invite her to their pack house to meet their third packmate, River. Camille is shocked because it turns out River is Camille’s uber cold boss who Camille is certain hates her.

River is shocked that Camille is the omega his lover and packmate want to court. He has been very cold toward Camille and treated her poorly not because he hates her but because from the moment he met her he has been obsessed with her and wanted her. He knew he couldn’t have her since he was her boss so he pushed her away. Now he has to figure out how to make everything work because he doesn’t want Ambrose and Jackson to lose Camille. Oh, and he has harbored a crush on Jackson for 10 years but thinks Jackson is straight so he never told him he’s attracted to him and wants him sexually.

Camille decides to continue courting Ambrose and Jackson, and that if she joins their pack she’ll be a platonic member with River. She still hasn’t disclosed her omega status at work and things seem to be going okay until the very end of the book when she is called into HR offices and fired. She’s certain Ambrose told on her, but what she doesn’t know is that her a-hole brother in law told her resentful co-worker about her status and he was the one that tattled. The book ends with Camille telling Ambrose she never wants to see any of them again, and Ambrose devastated thinking he has ruined everything.

**THOUGHTS/OPINIONS**

This was disappointing omegaverse. Camille was a good character. A nice representation of a late designating omega who is clueless and learning on the curve. I liked Ambrose is the beginning but quickly came to kind of “resent him.” I didn’t like the m/m content in the book because it felt unbalanced in many ways. Not only was Ambrose keeping his relationship with his lover, but also with his SCENT MATCHED omega. It was like wanting his cake and getting to eat it as well. He didn’t have to work for it, and he didn’t really SHOW Camille that she was loved as much as his lover. Sure he had lots of sex with her but all the emotional stuff was reserved for River, his alpha lover…the relationships were unbalanced and I didn’t feel like Camille was the heart of the pack. I also know that there will clearly be m/m/m in the second book as River has already expressed interest in Jackson, and Jackson has expressed sexual interest in Ambrose, and all three men say they love one another. I think it’s frankly TOO MUCH, and will really take away from the idea that Camille is the glue that binds the pack. I honestly don’t understand why authors these days seem to insist if there are more than 2 members in a harem that the men have to be sexually involved with one another. The pack can have men who love each other platonically you know. It’s not necessary to give us detailed on page m/m and m/m/m sex scenes like every other page. It’s way too heavy handed, and yeah yeah the characters throw out “love is love” every other sentence, but frankly, it feels like the author(s) are trying to make a political statement on sexual identity and relationships and losing the love story along the way. I felt like I was being hit over the head with the fact that men can love men…and this was supposed to be Camille’s story. SHE IS THE CENTER OF THE PACK. So honestly I didn’t need to read about Ambrose and River and eventually Jackson’s sexcapades every other page. It was too much. Throwing in the fact that River has been treating Camille poorly at work as an excuse because he’s attracted to her is not a good enough plot device to eventually making her a full member of the pack and sexually involved with all 3 members. Heck we get one scene where River gets Camille off and then BITES HER, then he pushes her away leaving Camille thinking it meant nothing. This all happens in half a page!! That is literally all the interaction you get between Camille and River. It doesn’t adequately set you up for book two. Clearly in book two River will somehow clear the air between them and they’ll have a sexual relationship, but there isn’t enough “back story” to make it believable. River feels way too “in love” with Ambrose, and just in lust with Camille. Again…way unbalanced. This was a good example of a true polyamorous failure in my book. I know by the other reviews that I’m in the minority in feeling this way, but frankly I write it as I read it. And these are just my personal feelings. But I have read in my opinion, much better polyamorous omegaverse novels, And I won’t be reading book two.

I was mostly enjoying myself until the end, when . Taking away the FMC's agency like that is going to piss me off every time - he knew Camille is new to all of this. And who the hell would ? Jackson and Ambrose being all, 'dude, well done, she'll totally forgive you' was the topping on this awful cake, and a cliffhanger misunderstanding (my least favorite trope) added sprinkles. Going to think twice before I pick this author up again.

I truly think Feeling the Heat takes first place for my favorite omegaverse ever read. It is perfectly balanced for a why choose, which is always something I beg for. The plot was incredible and unique, the spice was HOT, the building romance was so swoony, every single page of this book was just impeccable. 10/10 would recommend to anyone with eyes.

Feeling the Heat follows Camille, our FMC, who thought she was experiencing early menopause on her 40th birthday… turns out… revealing late as an omega and goung into her first heat. After spending decades of her life under the assumption she is a beta, this sends her life topsy turvey. With nowhere to go and no resources to handle her heat by herself, she goes to a local heat clinic. The immediate chemistry between the on call doctor, alpha Ambrose, was so palpable. Camille is so relatable with the things she says I was giggling so hard. I love her ugh.

After her check up with Ambrose, she’s sent up to heat services to find helpers with her heat. There, upon smelling his scent, she picks a beta named Jackson… who happens to be part of Daddy Doctor Ambrose’s pack! I was SQUEALING at this point tbh.

Our third MMC, River, is a bit more reserved, quiet, almost stand-offish? His dynamic and story with Camille is also so so so good and that ending killed me.

SO IF YOU NEED ME IM BEGGING ON MY HANDS AND KNEES FOR PART TWO TOO

This book was everything I needed and so so much more. I was lucky enough to read most of Part One via Emily's Patreon, and reading it in it's final form knocked my socks off. Emily is one of my top favourite authors of all time, and she made me crave more Omegaverse. EMILY MADE ME WANT TO READ AGAIN! 😭 I cannot believe it!

And of course, as expected, I love all these characters and would do anything for any or all of them. I especially am attached to River. I need more content from him and Jackson ASAP!!! He is my precious baby boy.

I adored all their friendships, and most importantly I ADORED DAHLIA. Lil dolly baby. Precious angel. I need more cute animal companions and pets from now on.

I know there will be a HEA, but gosh dang Emily! That cliff hanger almost ended me. Is it November yet?

⭐️4.5. A late presenting omega who has lived life as a beta for 40 years? An adorable pack that includes a hot older doc, tattooed office hottie, and a quirky buff beta? hell. yes.
I loved this! It is a really good way to introduce reading omegaverse, as it gives information about this universe, while still keeping the story going. I really do love the pack dynamic, and the obvious love they have for eachother. It ends on a cliffhanger, so im going straight into part 2!

I’m glad I’m familiar with the genre or I would’ve stopped reading after she opens the book thinking she’s peed herself.
It’s a bold choice regardless of context, especially paired with the way she casts being 40 as geriatric.
She even calls herself that at one point!

40 isn’t old at all!

Society only hints otherwise because the men, who’ve ruined it, prefer little girls they can trick into wanting them before they grow into women who know better.

Anyway.

It was just a bit much to speak at length about her failing pelvic floor (which a simple workout could fix), the wrinkles in the corner of her eyes, and the grays in her hair.

“You don’t look older than 35!” One of the guys says in awe, right after she’s been described as resembling the witch’s haggard disguise when gifting Snow White the poisoned apple.

I fully expected them to comedically clear out the cobwebs from her ancient, cavernous depths before they could consummate their relationship.

Methinks some quiet reflection, introspection, and self love, are much overdue for this author.

Aging is a gift that many aren’t lucky enough to receive. Let’s give a little grace to ourselves, shall we?

Also, this has no business being a duet.
Beyond the crazy ageism going on, the beginning is naturally fast paced, making the rest incredibly slow and drawn out.

It is filled with excellent character building and conversations that do a great job at creatively delving into the psychology of each person, but there’s a lot more than there needs to be.

I was pleasantly surprised by the minor plot twist in a genre as generally predictable as this.

The video game they play was refreshing, hilarious, and jumpstarted my hyper-fixation with it again.

But then there’s the MM.
I’m not a fan of reading about it at all, but especially in situations like this, when their relationship is so established that her addition reads like cheating.

I couldn’t wrap my head around the older ‘daddy’ guy being a sub either.

It just didn’t fit, similarly to all of their appendages within a normal person.

We’ve established that 40 isn’t old, but it is old enough to know better than to react that way in the end, but if they communicated, we’d have no angst, and then what would we do?!

I’m interested enough (in the admittedly predictable villain) to attempt the second part, but reasonably wary.

"But when the realities of Camille's new life as an omega clash with the fantasy of a perfect pack, will fears of getting burned again keep them apart?"

Alright... it's time for me to put Emily on a pedestal again. And it'll more than likely happen again when Part Two comes out, so just go ahead and prepare for that now. Honestly, you should just expect it whenever I do a review for her books because I have yet to read a single one that I haven't adored. I was so lucky to get the chance to ARC read this one!

Feeling the Heat: Part One is a why choose, later-in-life MMMF omegaverse romance with a plus sized reluctant omega FMC and a pack of green flag MCs that are obsessed with her-and each other. There is no choosing between romance interests-while Feeling the Heat: Part One ends on a cliffhanger, they all get their HEA together by the end of the duet. (These are the words from Emily herself, and that cliffhanger y'all.... I'M DYING FOR MORE)

I was a bit nervous going into this because I've only read one omegaverse series before this, and I still didn't fully understand how things work with that. But leave it to Emily to reassure all of us who are new to this that we will be learning right alongside Camille, because Camille doesn't know she's an omega for most of her life. So she get's to learn about how it all works, and so do we. (Even down to a SUPER CUTE scene of her and Jackson shopping for nest making supplies. Brace yourself, you're going to swoon.)

Camille just wants to go out for her birthday and have some fun. She wants to forget about the fact that she's going into perimenopause for a night, and have some girl time with her best friend. But she can't even have that, because "God, what is it with me and making a fool of myself on special occasions? You'd think after all these years, I'd be more prepared for disaster." And tonight's disaster? Her first heat cycle. Not perimenopause. And that's when everything hits the fan after getting rushed to her first clinic visit.

Camille meets her clinic doctor for the night, Ambrose. A handsome alpha, a bit older than her, who smells delectable to her - and is borderline making her lose her mind. She's borderline making him lose his mind too. To top it off? "Hugs - Take as needed for anxiety (heat-related or generalized)" HE WRITES HER A PRESCRIPTION FOR HUGS. And Ambrose noticed something about her while they were together, something very important, that he needs to run by his pack because it could change everything...

Camille gets taken into the area of the clinic where she will be staying for the duration of her heat, and she has to answer some questionnaires to make sure her stay will be... pleasurable and comfortable. After all that's said and done, here he comes... Jackson. Muscular, tall, confident, with a gorgeous smile and brilliant brown eyes. The beta from Ambrose's pack, which Camille doesn't know about yet. "Who needs an alpha when you've got a beta like me? (There's that golden retriever confidence that we know and love from him.) But Jackson pieces some things together and he's having a field day with Camille. Their chemistry is undeniable and she is insatiable. But he can't keep up with her... and she calls out for Ambrose.

So let's introduce River. River is the final member of the pack. He's tattooed, gorgeous, anxious, and also an alpha. Oh, let's not forget... he's Ambrose's mate. But he also has a crush on Jackson that he's swallowed down for years since they've been friends forever. He gives Ambrose the all clear to go help Jackson with Camille... so everyone has been with Camille except River. But oh does he want to be with her... "I could be soft for you too, angel, if things were different."

Camille makes it through her heat, and the pack decides to court her when Ambrose tells them his little secret. And then River ends up having a revelation when he meets her. He already knows her, and this won't be smooth sailing. They find a way to try, but then something happens. And that's how we end up with a cliffhanger. I don't want to tell y'all too much, just enough to entice you. If you read Part One, you will want to and need to read Part Two. I am currently salivating while waiting for Part Two.

This book had me wanting to stay curled up in my little nest of a bed and not move until I was done reading it. And I absolutely have things highlighted that my husband will be getting shown as helpful hints.

As usual with my reviews, here are a few spoiler-free quotes that I enjoyed from the book to lure you in...
-"You're not a freak. Every body is different and being a statistical outlier doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you."
-"Trusting others and handing away control has never gone well for me. There's something about this man that makes me want to believe him, but my guard is too well constructed to fully rely on his word."
-"It's hard to see how lonely you are if that's been your normal state for years."

ARC Review of Feeling The Heat Part 1 by Emily Antoinette💘📚

Okay, so… did I inhale this book in less than 24 hours? Yes. Did the ending make me want to violently throw my Kindle across the room? Also yes.

Feeling the Heat completely took me by surprise in the best way possible. Camille, our 40-year-old FMC, finds out she’s not hitting early menopause like she thought—nope, she’s actually a late-presenting omega. The way she navigates this whole new side of herself at her age was so refreshing to read. She’s messy, funny, vulnerable, and so incredibly real. I adored her.

And then there are her men. Whew. The chemistry? Off the charts. The “why choose” balance? Absolute perfection.

Ambrose, our “Daddy Doctor” (and yes, he earns that title 👀), is the kind of alpha who’s both strong and gentle in all the right ways. Jackson, the golden retriever of the group, had me cackling one minute and swooning the next. I love that beneath all his charm, he’s got his own insecurities too—it made him feel so human. And River… my sweet anxious baby. Quiet, thoughtful, dealing with chronic pain and still managing to steal my heart. The disability rep was handled beautifully, and honestly, I just wanted to wrap him in a blanket and protect him forever.

The story hits every note perfectly—drama, humor, tenderness, and that kind of spice that makes you clutch your Kindle a little tighter. The writing is sharp, emotional, and addictive. I laughed, I blushed, I might’ve even teared up once or twice.

And that cliffhanger? Yeah, I need book two immediately to survive.

💘My Favorite Quote💘

Maybe some spoilers I don’t f*cking know at this point. I’m just happy I didn’t throw my kindle through a wall
.

.

WHAT THE ACTUAL F*CK

AT WORK!!!! THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE BOTTLE OUR FEELINGS OMFG… AT WORK! My jaw was on the FLOOR on page 417

That epilogue was CRIMINAL.

Thank GOD I waited to read part one until part two was out cause the way I almost THREW my kindle across the room OMFG.

I wanted to cry for River and hug him while also gently shaking him to get his head out of his a*s
Page 393 had me 😭😭😭

Ambrose and Jackson ✨chefs kiss no notes✨

Ambrose is just perfect and he knows exactly what the others need when they need it. He’s calm and just like a big security blanket for Jackson, River, and Cami.

Jackson.. sweet baby Jackson. He’s slowly having a bi-awakening throughout the book and he’s just so anxious because he was never given the permission to not be perfect. He has so much self hatred and doubt and it’s just so sad to see this character who obviously has so much goodness, compassion, and love for everyone to just deflate and blame so much on himself.

Camille…. I feel for her I really do. Designating as an Omega at 40 is ROUGH but JESUS CHRIST this girl could NOT STOP JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS. I was ready to jump through the da*n book and backhand her.

Dolly is adorable and a sweet baby with her little wheel chair 🥹

Feeling the Heat is Emily Antoinette's first foray into omegaverse and, while every omegaverse is different, the author builds upon the basic elements and provides a little bit of a crash course as the female main character Camille navigates a late-revealed change in her designation.

While celebrating her 40th birthday, Camille gets a surprise first heat and a trip to the local clinic confirms she’s not a beta, but a very late-revealing omega. After the events at the clinic, the pack of Ambrose, Jackson, and River agree they should court Camille. But when the realities of Camille’s new life as an omega clash with the fantasy of a perfect pack, fears of getting burned may keep them apart.

What drew me into Feeling the Heat Part One was Camille being an older, plus size protagonist finding love later in life, but the Author works on developing all main characters through their respective circumstances, both individually and as a pack. Ambrose, Jackson, and River also turned out to have their unique charms.

There is plenty of spice and variety among pairings and the story is working towards a happy ending for its protagonists. Part One is out now, but Part Two will be out soon.

This book cured my book hangover. I am sad that I have to wait until NOVEMBER for text one.

I shall retitle this book "Idiots in Love", because the are all ding dongs. There is so much emotional constipation and self-doubt, that I feel the need to slap at least 4 characters.

Cami just turned 40 and presented late as an omega. Her self-reliance is admirable, but just because she can do things on her own, doesn't mean that she has to. And babe, you're HOT! Own that shi.

Ambrose is Daddy. His desire to care for everyone is so sweet, but I think he needs to make sure that he has his needs met, too!

Jackson is the beta himbo. He is a literal ray of sunshine, but a little obtuse. It's giving "you can't catch me, gay thoughts?"

River.... Oh River, what am I going to do with you? River needs a slap, a hug, and a drink. He does TOO much!!! Including avoiding his own feelings. Not healthy bro...

The cliffhanger at the end had me wanting to throw my phone. Why must you make me wait, Emily????

I loved absolutely everything about this book and I was completely enamored with it from page one! On Camille’s 40th birthday, she goes into heat and discovers that she is a very late-presenting omega. Her life is turned upside down from what she had previously thought and known about herself and omegas. She has a steamy foray with a beta and hot doctor alpha at a heat clinic (who also happens to be her scent match).

I adored Camille! She’s scared of what this change will mean for her and anxious about how she will be perceived. She also feels too old to be dealing with all this which I can absolutely relate to. I loved reading along as she learned more about her new designation and how to navigate it. I also adored all the men (even when I thought they were being idiots and very frustrating). Each were unique characters and held their own. I loved reading about how much they loved and adored Camille.

Be warned, this does end on a cliffhanger! I am feral for the next book! I read this one so quickly and can’t wait to get my hands on the conclusion of this story!

This is the author’s first foray into writing OV and they hit it out of the park! I can’t believe I now have to wait for the second book in the duet cause that cliffhanger I both love it and hate it. Things I loved in the book include: the plus size rep but it’s an Emily Antoinette book that’s a given! The chronic illness rep with River having arthritis and even Ambrose having the aches and pains of his age. This leads to the fact that the MC’s ages are 35-48 and as someone in that age bracket I love seeing that representation. Now this may be controversial but I love the miscommunication trope, especially when it’s done in a way that is believable and I think Emily definitely pulls that off wonderfully. The best part of the book is the small but mighty FMC Dolly the dachshund! She absolutely steals the show and I can’t wait to see her get her pack back on track so that she always gets her snuggles and belly rubs.

I knew this book was a duet when I started, but I don’t love the cliffhanger ending. Just when we start to get some resolution for the pack there is a big misunderstanding and what should be our third act break up is actually where the book ends. I know the author is building tension with the crappy alpha in the office, but it felt like the story wasn’t really moving for sections in the middle. The book starts as Camille celebrates her 40th birthday and then reveals as an Omega. I support a woman who wants to keep doing her job, but sometimes in my books I just want the real world to go away. Girl you’re an omega now and you found your pack. Let them take care of you and find a nice work from home job. I do wish I could jump into book two, but I have library holds I need to read first. I’m worried I may not come back to finish this story.

Thank you so much for the ARC!

I inhaled this book in a matter of days, which is always a good sign.

What I loved:
- Ambrose and his dynamic to the pack
- Lauren being unapologetically omega
- The inter-pack communication

What I wasn't a fan of
- Jackson being borderline homophobic. He's also a dumbass and I don't like his vibes.
- Astrid only being used at the start of the book and at the end
-

I am not a fan of this whole duet Part One / Part Two trend that's going on, primarily because I have no access to KU and am forced to pay full price for two books instead of one.

Thanks so much to Emily and her team for the ARC!

I ATE THIS UP. I forced myself to only read a few chapters a day to savor it, or else I would’ve devoured it in a day.

A later in life FMC whose life is flipped upside down when she presents as an omega at 40? Commentary on the perceived social worth of women? A why choose with MMCs that deal with jealousy and self worth in a poly pack dynamic? Bisexual awakenings? Men who YEARN?

This book has everything.

I rate it at 4.5 stars, and I can’t wait for part two - I NEED THAT HEA!

I was really excited about this book because I think this is the oldest omega, as well as the oldest newly presented omega, that i have read and I love it!! I really enjoyed the dynamics, the main characters, and the side characters as well. I really liked how the relationship between River and Cami progressed and I was honestly in tears at the end of the book and I gasped out loud at that epilogue. I definitely recommend it!!!

Loved this so much! Every character is well rounded, the age range in the cast is fantastic, the representation of variation kinks and how consent works in scenes is on point. Even further, the plot is evolving to be quite a gripping mini commentary on the plague of alpha rhetoric amongst real life men - and how that translates to the underestimation/degradation of and ultimately harm against women. This little 2 parter series is really shaping up to be something special in the romance sphere.

Look, i really liked this story, but at the same time nothing pisses me off more than a miscommunication trope.

Also, the whole fact that betas have absolutely no knowledge about alpha/omega/pack relationships is a wildly ignorant concept that I wasn't a fan of. Likr majority of the book was Camille just not knowing about any very basic omega instincts (like needing touch, being sensory sensitive, biting, etc) it was all just very ignorant in concept in my opinion.

I loved it but man oh man the cliffy stings!

This was fantastic! We never see older omegas revealing for the first time and having to wrestle with the changes it has on their whole lives. I loved Camille’s pack but I can't deny that I was eagerly anticipating River and Camille’s interactions throughout the book. Like when will River finally finally let go and enjoy this? And then he DOES and the world shifts again 😭😭😭 I need to go read the next book immediately!

I need part two pronto!!!

This was amazing and now I’m coming up with all types of situations in my head and I just need to know what happens!

Camille ( our FMC) is celebrating her 40th birthday and the craziest thing happens, she starts her heat!

Why is that crazy? Only omegas have heats and she’s not an omega. Well, at least she thought she wasn’t. She’s spent her entire life thinking she was a beta.
Now she has to go through her first heat and wrap her mind around being an omega, but with some help.

Screaming! I’m not going to say more because I don’t want to spoil it.

I thought this was so good and cute. With each mate, Camille started understanding herself and understanding omegas and the power they hold too.

Then with her and her mates, I loved how different the relationships she had with each mate. Usually, in some ways choose romances, the guys seemed to be similar to each other or the relationship with each partner was the same, no one brought anything different to the relationship. In this, you can really see the difference and I absolutely loved it.

Also the spice, ten out of ten!!!

I need part two so bad.

A 40 year old omega? Yes please! I really loved the late showing omega and seeing the chaos it presented into her well established life and Cami trying to cope with all these new instincts and emotions! It’s just so good and I’m dying for the second half!
