While not a national hero, everyone in the army knows of the feats and accomplishments in the recent unification war that earned you the moniker of Thill the Spearman. You thought you had a dazzling military career ahead of you, but you've instead been transferred to the newly created Traffic Security Bureau for reasons you can't begin to fathom. Its chief, Olivia Riedell, insists the world is about to change and your country will no longer require soldiers. Instead, she believes it will embrace hard-working men and women who wield pens instead of swords and rifles. Your sense of duty compels you to accept, but you'll soon learn it's not as comfy a job as you imagined...
As the squad leader, you're tasked with questioning applicants wishing to go through the checkpoint and making sure their papers are in order. Compare dates, check photographs and descriptions against the person in front of you, and identify counterfeit documents. There's only so much time in a day though, and your pay depends on your performance. Make sure to move the line along quickly while avoiding mistakes!
Progress through the story and perform well in your duties to get transferred to checkpoints in other regions, each with its own evolving rules that dictate who's allowed to enter and under what conditions.
Earn your paycheck and browse the wandering merchant's wares to acquire various valuable items that modify or enhance your ability to perform your duties. How about a metal detector that instantly identifies hidden weapons? How about a calming perfume that prevents applicants from getting stressed as quickly? These and many more items will unlock as the game progresses!
Security Checkpoint Simulation
Receive applicants who wish to cross the checkpoint and verify their documents and stories through the interactive minigame. Use items to handle the most complex cases, and earn evaluation points by being accurate and quick to advance your career.
Randomly Generated & Handcrafted Characters
Applicants are randomly generated, ensuring no two days on the job are the same. Among those, a cast of unique, handcrafted characters with their own stories and sidequests will appear if the right conditions are met. Of course, not everyone who appears before you will be a friendly, law-abiding citizen. Use wanted posters to identify dangerous criminals who wish harm to the Empire and its people.
Interwoven Gameplay and Story
The locations you visit, the rules you have to follow, and the characters you meet all play a part in progressing the story. Perform well enough to be noticed by the higher-ups, and keep an eye out for suspicious individuals.

Papers Please but actually good...
An insanely good game with a somewhat addictive gameplay loop. It also helps that the game isn't too short but also not too long. Took me about 8 hours to actually finish through the story and thankfully there's still more quests to do such as dates. I played with the unrated patch and I love the art too. Definitely get it if you're a fan of Papers Please and want something more naughty!

Well-conceived and charming
There's a bit of jank to the UI, but there's an actual plot happening, a consistent art style, and it's coherent. It doesn't have fully animated sections - just transitions between still frames, and an overhead sprite view for story context.

Gapers Please: A good idea, wasted
It's Papers Please with more extensive cavity searches. It's easy to play, and it can be played with one hand, but your other hand probably won't be busy too often. The original Papers Please captured the boredom of a day job and Gatekeeper does the same. All of your customers(?) are stiff paper dolls with minimal animation, and the paper dolls aren't drawn that great in the first place. This could have been a hot idea. Papers Please forced you to choose between your integrity and your family's health. This could have been a game where you choose between morality and exploiting your position of power over desperate sexy women. Instead it's a game where you choose between one more boring identical squeeze fest (while the clock is ticking) and getting a good enough score to move the plot along. It's just not that sexy and the awkwardly drawn women aren't that tempting, and the repetition of the character models makes it get stale fast. There are only a few types of immigrants for you to examine and they wasted a few of these designs on guys. It would have been nice if you could choose what genders you'd like to strip search from the beginning. If you only like women, the constant onslaught of dudes will be an annoyance. The game is a little bit titillating at first when you're wondering just how kinky it will get, but it all gets old fast. You might say a sexy version of Papers Please was a bad idea from the start, but they could have saved it with more animation, better artwork, a wider variety of girls, and a bigger arsenal of what you could do with the ones who tickle your fancy. This game sold me on a very hot premise and for the most part it gave me nothing but boredom.

Strange game
So your work is to verify people as they want to cross several borders. To do that, you have to verify their papers according to an increasing set of rules. You also have a lot of power as in patting and make them undress if necessary. That said, you have a quota of people to process in a certain amount of time without mistake, namely at least 10 people with at most 2 mistakes. As for the "story", well it's more there to be able to end the game at one point than anything else. The game itself is well done, and the graphics are nice. But it gets repetiive fast. Let just say there a reason those TSA people always look either angry or bored to death and this game helps you understanding it LOL. Few H-scenes, beside the possible undressing, but they are nice (stills). They can be all unlocked at the "end". No real endgame content, but you can continue as long as you wish. All in all, it's not a bad game, but I definitively didn't find it compelling or even really fun, hence the 3 stars.
