    With a perfect mix of exploration and platforming, randomly generated maps, awesome upgrades and extremely addictive gameplay, SteamWorld Dig is a fantastic game, one that I highly recommend playing.

    What to expect from Steamworld Dig:

    -An audiovisual style that reminds you of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly and Borderlands. -Gameplay that's like Spelunky, but minus the stressful rush to finish a level before the ghosts appear, and also without the multiplayer. The game has a few things in common with Terraria too, and even Angband. You descend deeper and deeper into a mine below an almost-ghost town, mining precious metals and gemstones while killing/avoiding baddies. Between your hauls you buy upgrades in town. Note that Steamworld Dig is much more simple and short than any game I've mentioned in this review, and also not that this didn't bother me one bit. I had a lot of fun the 7 hours it took to finish the game!

    Great Game, but much too short

    Instant Buy - but keep in mind - in about 3 to 4 hours you are through. If it had doubble the length it would be one of my favourite games of the year!

    What a great little game !

    Not being into platform style games, I have to say this one pulled me in from the start. It starts out quite simple as you mine for gems and minerals to upgrade your gear, but as you unlock more and more skills and abilities it really gets addictive. As other reviews have mentioned it's not a very long game, but you can either race to the finish and finish it in 4 hours, or you can actually explore for more resources and really flesh it out so you get to the more challenging end section with more upgrades. Nice casual experience definitely worth the price!

    Great but too short

    As others are saying, this game is very good and fun to play, very casual, which is good, but waaay too short. I finished it in 4 hours not rushing through anything and getting most of the upgrades.

    Would recommend in a hearbeat

    It's a great little time-waster, if nothing else, that offers constant incentives to keep mining and selling resources and explore further down. The plot is fine, but the game didn't really need it to make it fun and worth playing. The boss fight that triggers end game was very easy and anti-climactic, and again, the game didn't need to feature it to make it worth playing.
