Gorgeous gray chub Watermelon is ready to strut straight into your heart and home. This big girl is curious, people friendly, and absolutely convinced the world revolves around her—other cats just get in the way of her fabulousness. Watermelon is looking for a special home that can help her shed a few pounds so she can live her very best kitty life. With wet food, portion control, and some fun play sessions, this cutie patootie will be on the right track in no time. If you are looking for a new furry companion and also would love to help a cat in need, Watermelon is over here raising her paw. **In loving memory of his beloved cat Oscar, an anonymous donor has generously sponsored this cat`s adoption fee.** This pet is available at: Brandywine Valley SPCA1516 Okie St NE Washington, DC 20002

Story
Meet Goofy — our sweet boy who just needs a little time to feel like himself again. Right now, he’s feeling anything but goofy. Shelter life can be overwhelming, and this gentle guy is a bit shut down here. But once he trusts you, his true self peeks through — a soft, loving cat who melts into pets and sweet talk. Goofy is the kind of cat who blossoms slowly and beautifully. In a quiet, patient home where he can decompress at his own pace, he’ll reward you with so much love… and endless kitty biscuits. Truly, this boy has a tender heart just waiting for the right person to help it shine. If you have a calm home and the patience to let Goofy settle in and feel safe, please stop by and meet him. Give him the chance he needs, and he’ll give you a lifetime of gratitude. This pet qualifies for our Sponsored by Simba`s Pets for Veterans program: no adoption fee for any military veteran adopting a pet 1 year and older. This pet is available at: Brandywine Valley SPCA 1516 Okie St NE Washington, DC 20002

Good with kids, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Rehoming Fugee, a 6-year-old orange and white domestic shorthair in Washington, DC. We have a newborn with a confirmed cat allergy, and finding him the right home is the hardest thing we’ve had to do. Fugee is 17-18 lbs, but he's tall not overweight. During the day he’s independent and chill, parked by a window doing his thing. Come evening, he’s a full-on lap cat on his own terms. He’s gentle, calm, great with adults and kids, doesn’t jump on countertops, and you can trim his nails without a fight. He was found as a stray in 2020 and has been purely indoors and deeply loved ever since. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, and in perfect health. He comes with a Litter-Robot 4, automatic feeder, water fountain, toys, his favorite blanket, and one year of pet insurance on us. Small rehoming fee applies. DM us with a bit about yourself and your home. We’re taking our time to find him the right fit.

Story
Damaya is a lovely pastel calico with a sweet temperment who thrives best in a quiet home. She can get along with children, but has spent most of her life in a home with only one or two adults. Even at 8 years old, she is playful and cuddly, but she'll never bombard you with demands for attention. She will bring a quiet and easy joy into your life with her gentle purs. Please reach out if you would like to adopt her! Please note that she does not mix well with dogs or other cats.
