Yeah, it's rather dark, but very soulful and very lyrical. Smith lived most of his life in Auburn, California. Auburn's not too far away from us. There should be a nice memorial there at the Placer County Museum by the time you read this. Includes a nice cover illustration by Smith a a couple nice full-color interior illustrations as well.
