5,0 su 5 stelle Pretty good. It felt like the ending was cut short suddenly.
This was an enjoyable conclusion to the series. It did feel like the ending was cut off a tad short. I loved the inventive magic in this one though.

4,0 su 5 stelle too short, need more story
I really liked this trilogy. Except...it didn't feel like a trilogy. I was disappointed in how quickly the author wrapped up the story. As soon as I was done with the book I went online to see if there was perhaps another book and I just had missed it. I like my books to be at least twice as long usually. And I REALLY like to have the end of the good/evil battle. This book just didn't tell the whole rest of the story.

5,0 su 5 stelle Not an expected ending...
Ms Lisle is a wonderful writer. I really enjoyed this series. Was NOT expecting the ending to turn out like it did. I was angry and fustrated and happy and elated. Kind of like how real life is...
Brilliant series. Well worth reading, and re-reading.

3,0 su 5 stelle Pretty good with some disappointments
I want to start by saying that I really loved the first two books in this series, and I was disappointed that this one didn't live up to those. I agree with other reviewers who said that the book felt as if it were not as well thought out as the others. Thor was indeed a deus-ex-machina figure, as another reviewer suggested, and there was, in my opinion, a big question raised about Loki that was left undeveloped. It seemed as if another book were planned but never written. The ending was very abrupt with little real resolution; much was suggested but little actually shown. I would have at least liked an epilogue chapter to show these resolutions.
Another issue for me was the relentless nature of the dialogue. There were many sections where dialogue went on very long with preachy consequences, especially with Thor. There also didn't seem to be enough real action for the middle portion of the book, which mainly consisted of conversations between characters, who all began to sound the same, and long sections following the inner thoughts of one character or another. This is all great for character development, but it can be overdone, as I think it was here.
In all, if you have read the other two books, this will be satisfying enough to read in order to find out what happened to the characters, but you may want to consider borrowing it from the library rather than adding it to your own bookshelf.
