I have a soft spot for magical sibling stories. This one reminds me of Alan Dean Foster's book, The Deavys. (Which in my mind is a huge compliment.) It also reminds me of the movie, Spiderwick.
And, it's a book that can be enjoyed by young and old alike. In this case, the twins come from a magical lineage of which they are unaware and to one normal, mundane mother and one magical father. So, tension. When their gifts erupt, literally, they whisked away to Grandma X. She, a mysterious, and heretofore, unknown grandmother, is definitely magical. What happens next is an engrossing tale of discovery, tests, doubt, and Evil. Oh, and magic. I for one look forward to the troubletwisters' journey!
