    This book maintains the standard of quality set by the first three books in the series with top quality paper, gilt edging, and a pair of bookmarks. The illustrations seems to be a little further between than in the first books of this edition, though that might just be because of the extra length of the book itself, and the smaller illuminations -- the designs or motifs that, while not full-on scenes, still added a little something extra to each and every page -- seem to be a little less in play with Goblet of Fire than they were with the other books, but the illustrations themselves are just as evocative and beautifully done as ever. Jim Kay has done an amazing job of reinterpreting a by-now cultural work of fiction and putting his own stamp on these characters, places, and times.

    If I have one criticism of this purchase, it would be the lack of the multi-page fold-out present in the first three books. The two illustrations of Diagon Alley that were included with Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets were fascinating, and the Anatomy of the Werewolf was incredible. I've pulled out these editions just to pore over each of these drawings alone, but Goblet of Fire came "only" with a high quality Preliminary Pencil Sketch of Hogwarts. Just as high quality as everything else in this edition, but I found myself slightly disappointed nevertheless. Here's hoping the fold-outs return for the next books in the series.

    Regarding my specific copy of this book, there was a small, barely noticeable smudge on the slipcase, I've noticed one instance of smudge in the actual text of the book, and the gold edging seems a bit "scraped thin" in places -- where the first three books, when closed, had an almost mirror finish to their edging, this particular book has a few pages near the middle of the book where gold edging never seems to have been applied, or where it was scraped off. None of these issues is large enough to warrant a return or exchange, but just serve to highlight how otherwise PERFECT this edition is.

    I don't regret this purchase one bit, and am eagerly awaiting the next books in the series.

    Den här är på gräns till för tung för att kunna läsas bekvämt, det är inte lika stort minus som att det inte alls är lika många bilder i den här boken som de andra, inte ens små dekorationer på sidorna som de förra. Jag tycker att de kunde förminskat texten lite, så boken blir mer hanterbar, och lagt till fler bilder. Ett annat minus är att de tejpat på den dekorerade pappkartongen som boken ligger i, vilket betyder att man inte kan ta bort tejpen utan att slita med sig en del av draken som finns avbildad på lådan.

    Jag gillar verkligen de här illustrationerna, men som sagt - det känns som boken ska knäckas eller bli skev under sin egen tyngd, och det får mig att undra hur de kommer att lösa Fenixordern, som är nästan dubbelt så tjock som den här - nästa kommer väl väga 10 kilo och vara helt utan bilder.

    Den känns inte lika prisvärd som dom andra, helt enkelt.

    Ich liebe diese Deluxe-Ausgaben, ich habe auch die vorangegangenen Bücher.
    Wie immer ist die Qualität top und die Bilder sind magisch, leider sind es bereits weniger als in den vorherigen Büchern. Man merkt hier bereits, dass Jim Kay an seine Grenzen stößt. Schade, dass er dieses tolle Projekt nicht beenden kann.

    I have been getting these for my wife as they get released - so she has the full set so far. They are lovely books - well designed and stuff. They are pretty much the same content as the illustrated books without the slip case - so in that sense they seem very over priced by comparison. that said, it was a present for my wife so job done!
