    Wanted a copy of this book for a birthday present and I knew what it is like in quality and content. What I was amazed was the freshness and the clean lines of this used item. Corners of the cover maybe tatty but mean nothing. It was a nostalgia success that went down well with my relative and brought back great 1970's memories.

    Unlike its predecessor this book tells actual tales of science fiction adventure, notably the Laguna Wars, but isn't limited to the fictional setting of the Terran Trade Authority, but tells other tales of exploration and adventure in deep space on strange worlds fraught with danger.

    And also unlike the previous book this isn't a kind of Janes guide to combat and civilian space ships of some imaginary future, but more of a historic record with some actual story telling. I read it as a pre-teen boy, and read it again as an adult some twenty years later. And unlike the previous books this one is written with a slightly tighter and more adult prose that is actually pretty interesting on a number of levels.

    And of course there's the art work, a welcome mix of various science fiction novel covers to add to and inspire the narrative.

    They're all fun stories for a night's reading. If you're a die hard scifi fan, then maybe check out a copy of this book.

    Well packaged and in very good condition. Thank you. I bought this as it was speculatively believed to be one of source inspirations for Starfield. Having looked it over I can see where that could be the case. The book consists of a number dramatic full page color images mostly involving space craft in combat and related situations and an assortment of images related to troops in similar situations. There are also smaller monotone images that work to support the narrative, which I won't spoil except to say it involves human expansion into our solar system and beyond and alien encounters. Very enjoyable as a work that shows what the future in space could be for mankind as viewed from 1979.
