    グインは前巻の引き以来出てきませんが、それ以外の中原各国の様子が綴られた巻です……と書いてしまうと「終盤間近でそんなにのんびりしているはずがない！」とツッコまれそうですが、本当にのんびりしています、様々な意味で。
    風呂敷は徐々に、本当に徐々に畳まれつつあるかのようですが、本巻の主たるイベントは単に「少年らしさを失って変わり果てたイシュトが、カメロンとの精神的愛憎劇を繰り広げた挙句、我が子と対面して……」だけです。百巻にも亘る大河ロマンの終盤を疾走する勢いだとか、読者を巻き込んで放さぬ迫力だとか、急転直下の意外な事実だとか、そういう「終わり近辺ならではの力強さ、魅力」を期待して本書を手にすると、まず間違いなく裏切られた気持ちになります。
    ただし、50巻前後のつもりで読むと、それなりに楽しめるかもしれません。
    私は淡々と読了させていただきましたが、どうしてもこれが「95巻」だという実感が未だに湧いてきません。困ったものです。

    う～ん、前巻がある意味クライマックスに近い盛り上がりだった事を考えると多少、物語的には物足りなくも感じますね。ただ、それぞれのキャラクターに希望的な明るさが少ない事とある意味、リアルな人間関係の描写には私的には辟易です。ディーンは相変わらずだし、イシュトは○○だし・・・何よりもシルヴィアが可哀想に感じるのは変なのかな。ファンタジーな世界観の中にリアルな肉欲は必要無いと思いますし、ここまでいじめるか作者！などと思います。
