    Unfortuneately I found this rather dull. I read the first couple and felt I wasnt reading anything ground breaking or amazing. Got bored and stopped! There are vast amounts of short stories collections which are vastly better than this. I highly recommend Pixel Juice by Jeff Noon, or the little known Cyber-killers by Ric Alexander et al.

    A collection of 18 short stories and book extracts from various authors that concentrate on the less shiny and more hollow sides of human society. Ranging from a single page to a dozen pages, the stories tell of people living in worlds where appearance is everything, of people wondering about the world they're living in, or of people just living and not caring at all.
    An interesting aspect is that the authors were free to choose not only the words, but also the layout and illustrations of their story. Some just use plain text, others add photos, arrange text fragments in geometrical shapes, and more. Jeff Noon's contribution to this book is his story "Blurbs" in it's original length and layout, not the re-formatted, short-cut, open-ended version found in "Pixel Juice".
    If you're looking for something to cheer you up, forget it. Otherwise, it is a good read with a wide range in styles, although the book extracts amongst the original short stories briefly generate the impression of reading a marketing brochure. Apart from a reference to analogue mobile phones, you'll hardly notice that the stories are a few years old by now.
