How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 January 2014In my opinion the best value for the money you can find, among all the collections of fantasy art out there.
Amazing quality of print and so many beautiful works, including traditional, digital, 2d and 3d.

It's a terrific value for the price of a big 304-page artbook, available in paperback and hardcover.
This year's Grand Master Award goes to Brom, who also happens to have his personal artbook The Art of Brom out in August. You'll want to check out that artbook. And also check out other volumes in the Spectrum series.
Highly inspirational. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Twenty Years! - Well done.
For those who own, or have viewed, any of the nineteen previous Spectrum collections this newest volume follows the same format and includes a number of the same artists. If "Fantastic" art is to your liking this newest offering should be a welcome addition to your library. There is something here for everybody. Which, of course, means that a fair number of the entries will be of marginal interest but will be compensated by a few others that will just knock your socks off.
I have collected the Spectrum series from the first volume and they are always something to look forward to. The editors consistently present the very best artists in the field and there is not one edition I haven't enjoyed looking through over and over again.
It is interesting to contrast the works in the earlier volumes and see just how far the quality of the art has progressed. I enjoy the early editions but there is no question, at least in my judgement, that todays artists have really ratcheted it up a few notches. The work in the later Spectrum series volumes is much more polished and, seen in its entirety, much more diverse.
There seems to be some controversy regarding the mediums employed in the production of these works (the digital vs traditional debate). I am not in a position to weigh in with any meaningful commentary as I am not an artist myself. I will not likely be owning any of the originals from these artists, whatever the format, so I just relax in a nice comfortable chair and enjoy them for the pleasure and creativity they do offer. I know I couldn't produce anything nearly as impressive with a brush, pencil, pen, keyboard or mouse so a big hat-tip to those of your that can.
Will be pre-ordering #21 as soon as Amazon has it listed - Thanks

5.0 out of 5 stars Lo mejor en arte fantástico contemporáneo.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spectrum Delivers as usual!
I am a regular collector of this title. I bought the first volume off the shelf and every year I look forward to receiving it for Christmas (I have all 20 volumes!) I always get the paperback rather than the hard cover by choice -- less weight for my already straining bookshelf of SF art books. The book's construction is flawless and it was well package against the vagaries of shipping. The book contains a nice cross-section of digital and multi-medium art including sculpture and paintings. The cover by Donato is stunning and the interior images are evocative. With more and more book covers turning to "photo quality" images (loosely photo-shopped) it is nice to see that Spectrum continues to favour original art. Well done and looking forward the 21.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lohnt sich - wie immer!
