    Vonda always added to her novelisations, and this is no exception. I loved the FBI agent putting his file in the proper place...the circular file. The trash can, in other words. :) It's a pretty faithful adaptation of a movie deliberately made in the spirit of lightening up after TMP, II and III, and it was fitting for IV to be dedicated to the crew of Challenger. Comic relief, yes, but with a serious message. I think Gillian's protest at playing the patient, and the guys honestly not understanding why this was a problem, should've been in the movie. They come from a future where such things simply don't MATTER any more. They SHOULDN'T. Hopefully one day they won't. We can but hope. Live long and prosper!
