Book as expected for cover and pages - but a bit musty.

Excellent continuation of the series. Was disappointed that there was no book 5 and couldn't find out any info on the author as to why she was unable to finish series and it was left hanging. If anyone knows what happened to her, please advise. Hopefully she just didn't feel like writing any more books.

I really enjoyed this series. If you read "Where the Ni-Lach", "Shadow Singer", and "Beyond the Draak's Teeth", this is a must have. It's probably a bit difficult to understand if you haven't read the previous books building up to this one. Even though it's a complete story, there are aspects of the universe it's written in that aren't delved into in this novel because they were explained previously. It ties up several loose ends from the previous three books, but there is definitely the setup for a fifth book (which, as far as I know, has never been written, nor is planned to be written). If you can't handle a story that doesn't completely wrap everything up, this probably isn't for you.
It is a complete novel on its own, well written, and a fairly easy read. I'd compare the pace and super-science/almost magic to be very similar to Alan Dean Foster's Pip&Flinx novels.

(My personal tastes tend to be fairly eclectic, but if you like Piers Anthony, Roger Zelazny, Alan Dean Foster, Anne McCaffrey, Ru Emerson, or Orson Scott Card, you should appreciate these books)
