"The best first novel of the decade."--Affaire de Coeur

About the Author

New York Times bestselling author Susan Krinard trained as an artist and has a BFA in illustration from the California College of Arts and Crafts. She became a writer in 1992 when a friend read a short story she'd written and suggested she try writing a romance novel. A longtime fan of science fiction and fantasy, Krinard began reading romances--and realized that what she wanted to do was combine the two genres. Since then, she's published more than a dozen paranormal and fantasy novels and written stories for a number of anthologies, both fantasy and romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Prince of Wolves, the 1st paranormal book I read and one worth returning to
Reviewed in the United States on 1 June 2013
I originally read this book when it was first published. I gave it away after a few years. I usually don't read books twise; I remember them to easily. I looked for this book often in used book stores. This was a book worth returning to! When i saw it on Kindle books, it was the first book I got!

    4.0 out of 5 stars Roughly a three-act book, I didn't expect it.
Reviewed in the United States on 3 March 2024
Roughly, the book is divided in three parts. The part where Joelle arrives at Lovell and meets Luke, the part where the two are looking for her parents and the last one has to do with everything that happens between them.

It wasn't the kind of spicy romance book that I expected, but it certainly didn't disappoint. It was more plot-based than I expected, darker and slower, but not unpleasant. There's a constant struggle for dominance between Joelle and Luke and in that struggle they both make mistakes that have to confront and solve in order to be together.

P.S. In this specific edition, there where some typos and mistakes in punctuation that annoyed me, it needs editing.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Revisit
Reviewed in the United States on 8 October 2020
I have the Val Cache series in paperback and have not reread them in years. The story and characters are still as mesmerizing as they were when the book was first published. Susan Krinnard weaves an exciting tale with two vulnerable but sexy protagonists. An awesome love story.
