She (Ayesha) Kindle Edition
On the occasion of his twenty-fifth birthday, Leo Vincey opens the locked iron box that is his birthright and finds an ancient potsherd. Following clues engraved on the relic, Vincey and the man who raised him, Cambridge professor Horace Holly, embark on a remarkable adventure that will take them from Victorian England to an uncharted region in East Africa. Surviving shipwreck, disease, and hostile natives, they discover a lost civilization no European has ever encountered—or lived to describe. They have entered the realm of the cruel and beautiful Ayesha, known to those who worship her as “She-who-must-be-obeyed.” For two thousand years, the white queen has been waiting—for what, Vincey and Holly are about to find out.
One of the bestselling novels of all time, She has held readers in its thrall for more than a century. Alongside Haggard’s other classic, King Solomon’s Mines, it established the conventions of the lost world fantasy genre, and has inspired some of our greatest thinkers and writers, from Sigmund Freud to J. R. R. Tolkien to Margaret Atwood.

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 November 2014Type face very small. Not sure how I will get on with it what with my ageing eye sight and all. Still it turned up on time as as described, but would benice to know if the text is very small (which it is) or more readable.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 January 2022I have seen many films made of the storyline of this book but none of them do the book justice. It is a great story and although it was written many years ago now it is such a good premise that it transcends time. As adventure stories go, it is the tops.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 April 2020Terrible Kindle text. I compared against the original and a lot of it is gibberish. Demanded a refund.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 November 2013I read "She" for the first time many years ago and was delighted with it. More than 50 years have elapsed since that time,so
(partly stimulated by nostalgia) I decided to give it another try. The edition you sent was neat, clear and convenient. I was NOT
disappointed. The product and your promptness in sending it to me were both excellent and much appreciated. Thank you very
much . . .
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 April 2015Excellent story, though writing is of course old fashioned.

4.0 out of 5 stars Classic Explorer era adventure with supernatural elements.
Since this book was written 100 years before I was born, I forgive its outdated and very rigid social expectations of love, sexuality and moral social behaviour.
Taken as a story from its own context, it is an interesting inspection of the human condition and a well written story that sweeps you away into another world that only vaguely resembles real parts of Africa.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pessima ristampa da presumibilmente PDF
Formato quaderno, immensi spazi vuoti fra un capoverso e l'altro, a fatica leggibile. Prezzo basso, ma qualità pure bassa.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT READ
Loved this book right from the opening chapter
The reader must take in to account that this book was written in a time when most of the western world had only heard about wild African beasts and villagers.. never seeing one...
