A former nursing-tank-and-sweatpants-wearing mom who realized that my clothes were making me feel bad about myself—and figured out how to change that.

Did I lose weight? Get a makeover? Spend thousands on a new wardrobe? Nope! I didn’t have the money, time, or energy for that. And I wanted to do the work of loving who I had become, instead of fighting to get back to the person I was or the body I had before.

All I did was figure out my best colors—the ones that objectively flatter my skin tone and draw out my features. Then rock them on a daily basis!

In Time, I Started Feelin’ Myself AgainI’D LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND
INSTEAD OF THINKING, “YIKES!”
I’D THINK, “DAMN, I LOOK GOOD!”

That little bit of confidence made me stand up taller. Smile easier. Talk to people more. And eventually, take more risks. I stopped surviving. I stopped hiding. And I started living more fully.

It didn’t happen overnight, but slowly, I began to feel worthy of my own time, effort, and energy again. And that changed my whole life.

So while, yes, on one hand, it’s “just” clothes…I think you and I both know that there is actually no such thing as “just” clothes. At least, not for us!
