Blues Fest Meetup

I know it's short notice and all, but plans are in full swing for Chicago area podcasters to meet up at Chicago Blues Fest again this Saturday, June 9th.

We haven't pinned down a time yet, but stay tuned to this message board thread if interested.

Last year I was able to update that message board with specifics about our location so finding us in the mass of humanity was easier.

Hopefully the GabberJaW banner (and the sun) will be more prominent this year.

I know it's a long shot but maybe we'll see some of you there?

This is my father's annual tribute to the fallen soldiers who gave everything for this country. He, himself, is a Viet Nam Veteran who was lucky enough to come home.

2 Year Anniversary (of sorts)

Next Tuesday marks my 2-year anniversary in podcasting! On May 28, 2005, I flew up to West Bend Wisconsin and picked up Drew Domkus of the Dawn and Drew Show for a little airplane ride. The next day, Drew put out Show #103 and a minor MINOR podcasting 'celebrity,' Oblivion, was born. About a month later, June 27, I posted I am a Faggot here on Eblo the Weblog, and my podcast officially started. The rest, as they say, is history.

Coincidentally, My Darling Rose and I met up with Dawn and Drew and a few other listeners for a gathering in Chicago just last weekend. We went to The Note to see Captured By Robots, a band made up of one guy and the robots he built to play instruments. Good times.

Bulldog and Cloud Dancer

I was just flipping through some of my photos on Flickr and spotted this one. It's really pretty damned cool. This was taken during the Saturday airshow at EAA's Airventure Oshkosh, 2005.

Bulldog is a highly modified Pitts S2S flown by owner Jim LeRoy and is shown here doing a ribbon cutting about 20' off the runway.

Cloud Dancer is a P-51D Mustang owned by Jimmy Leeward. I don't know for certain if that is Mr Leeward looking on from the wing.

I can't believe 9 months ago this little creature came into our lives and she can already crawl, chew, laugh and smile like nobody's business. What a sweetheart!
