Provenance
A downloadable game
Spin History Into Gold
In Provenance, you and your friends play antiques dealers trying to pawn off your junk items on your best buyer for the most money. Each player convinces and connives the others into certifying outlandish stories about an item's past to make it more attractive for their hidden buyer. Once every player has had a say about every item, the game ends with each player rolling dice to determine how big a check their buyer writes for the objects they sell.
A Nano RPG
Developed for the 200 Word RPG Challenge in 2015, this was the first tiny game I released into the wild. I blogged about Provenance when I released it to provide a little more context about its inspirations and origins. I'm consolidating my games here on Itch to make them all available in one place.
Provenance features no formatting and no graphics, just 200 words to describe the game play. I might edit and expand the game a little for clarity, or at least give it a tiny bit of layout and a graphic, but not today. I wanted to get it out in its original form for general consumption, if only to remind people that the TV series Lovejoy existed.

Imagining an offshoot of this where the goal is to simultaneously play up the curiousity and value of objects, while trying to downplay their corrupting eldritch nature.
Working title:
I AM PROVENANCE
That might be worth another 200 words to explore, sure.
