UCR Mission Statement
The University of California, Riverside will transform the lives of the diverse people of California, the nation, and the world through the discovery, communication, translation, application, and preservation of knowledge – thereby enriching the state’s economic, social, cultural, and environmental future.
UCR is Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Senior College and University Commission
Accreditation is a process aimed at ensuring educational institutions meet basic standards of quality and engage with issues of educational effectiveness. Institutional accreditation also ensures access to federal funds, including student financial aid.
UCR has been accredited since 1956 by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). Institutional reaccreditation by WSCUC occurs approximately every six to ten years. UCR was most recently reaccredited in 2018, followed by a Special Visit in 2022. UCR is currently undergoing another accreditation that will be completed in late 2026.
UCR's Associate Provost is the Accreditation Liaison Officer to WSCUC and can be reached at alo@ucr.edu.
