Hearts & Things (TTMT #865 Quilting & Sewing Show and Tell)

Welcome back to my sewing room! This week I talk about a new quilt top, share a machine embroidered repair for stains on a thrifted top, share the nail products I’m using*, and share two small finishes for my eldest.

Me talking about my Instant Pot cover in 2024

Learning to do my nails in 2026 – a playlist of videos I’ve found helpful. I’d love to hear your story, too!

*I’ve been playing with UV builder gel, but so far I haven’t tried it on my natural nails.

Several of my products came from KISS nails. I purchased them at my grocery store, but you can also find them in their online shop.

KISS PowerFlex Brush-On Nail Glue

KISS Glue OFF Instant False Nail Remover

Holo Taco Sticky Base (this is the only product listed that I ordered)

Essie Gel Setter Top Coat (also purchased at my grocery store)

Shirts & Sewing Room Shakeup (TTMT #864 Quilting & Sewing Show and Tell)

Hello, friends. In the last week, I’ve finished two me-made garments for my husband, practiced some nail art, and rearranged my sewing room. It sounds like a lot, but everything aside from the nail art was planned and ready to go, which is my favorite way to work.

Odds & Ends (TTMT #862 Crafty Show and Tell)

I’m coming to you reasonably well rested and happy with just a few things to share before the year ends.

Get the All Arizona & New Mexico Shop Hop Magazine 2026 from Hip Stitch. Way to go Jewells! ♥

Edited to add that TTMT’s Michelle has a bonus pattern on page 60. Thanks for sharing, Michelle!

There are lots of resources online showing how to use a Cricut cut or other stencil for screen printing. I used info from Pigskins & Pigtails.

Holiday Blah (TTMT #861)

Dear friends, I had a rough week with very little mojo, and I don’t have a single thing to show. I hope that whatever you’re doing, you can take a moment to slow down and breathe deep.

Jeans of a Different Color (TTMT #860 Crafty & Quilty Show and Tell)

Time for something completely different! This week, I share a pair of jeans I dyed using a jeans kit by RIT (Back to Blue), talk briefly about screenprinting, and mention an old favorite, Tree Trimming.

Watch a 37-year-old baby talk about Tree Trimming. The a/c was out in our house, which used to happen A LOT! Email sewhooked at gmail for the free pattern through December 31, 2025.

There are lots of resources online showing how to use a Cricut cut or other stencil for screen printing. I used info from Pigskins & Pigtails (which I managed to say in reverse during the video).

Stockings! (TTMT #859 Quilting & Sewing Show and Tell)

Happy December, friends! I finished the stockings I’d mentioned previously. They are made entirely from my stash and came out even better than I imagined! I’ve also got one tiny ornament to share that will be heading out in the mail with a reindeer later this week.

Tree Skirt Finish! (TTMT #858 Quilting & Sewing Show and Tell)

This week, I’m excited to share that I finished our tree skirt! The final quilted and bound skirt is a hair over 51″, made using 4″ (4.5″ cut) squares. I LOVE how this project came out and am looking forward to working on some new stockings next!

Blue & White (TTMT #857 Quilting & Sewing Show and Tell)

Hello, friends! In this week’s show & tell video, I talk about my in-progress tree skirt, some mending and alterations, and some happy mail from Abbie!

My snowflakes came from a variety of sources, including OESD & Oma’s Place. Oma’s Place has been purchased by Juju’s. I didn’t have luck finding my exact snowflakes, but there are plenty of options available from various machine embroidery resources. I used designs that were between 2.5″ and 3.5″ for my 4″ (finished) squares.
