Very talented, soft-faced character actor who made his debut in the mid-80s but came fairly late to prominence in Hollywood. His breakthrough movie was Glengarry Glen Ross opposite Al Pacino and Jack Lemmon, and as the '90s progressed, Spacey's roles grew increasingly interesting. In 1995, he went from an acknowledged character actor to one of the hottest prospects around with great performances in the hits Seven and The Usual Suspects. In the period that followed, Spacey commanded leading roles with great success, notably in American Beauty.
