I’m an engineer, writer, and editor from Nigeria. Author of the critically acclaimed Shigidi And The Brass Head Of Obalufon which was named one of the best books of 2023 by The Washington Post. I’ve hopped around the planet quite a bit but right now, I live in Australia. I’ve been a finalist for the Hugo, Nebula and Locus awards, the Caine Prize, and I’ve won the Sidewise award for alternate history. My work has also been translated into 7 languages. My fiction has appeared in Asimov’s, F&SF, Clarkesworld, and is collected in the books Incomplete Solutions (2019, Luna Press) and Convergence Problems (2024, DAW Books)

I have been following your career for several years, ever since I read your short story “Crocodile Ark” in Omenana 1 and came across the List of Published African SFF on the ASFS website. In my opinion, you are not only a writer worth reading, but also a proven expert on African SF. I therefore take the liberty of asking you whether you know of any African authors who write and publish their SF not in English, French or Arabic, but in an African language.
