It would appear that the artist has hijacked this answer to promote his new paper…

I suppose I wouldn’t really need it though. I already win every time. Maybe what we need is a second Deinonychus to show Ostrom the ropes!

Besides, species are just constructs you make up to understand the biosphere.

It appears that this blog is no longer marked as explicit, thank goodness. My appreciation goes out to a reader who let me know about this; Tumblr doesn’t seem to feel the need to actually tell me about these things.
As such, the askbox is now open once more. This is not a guarantee that the questions will be answered immediately, however.
It appears that this blog was flagged as explicit without my knowledge, rendering it invisible to non-Tumblr users and to those with safe mode on. Tumblr support has so far been completely unhelpful in responding to my appeals to unflag the blog.
Until steps can be taken to undo the damage, I will be putting this blog on hiatus. Raptormaniacs is intended to be accessible to all of my readers, and that cannot be achieved if it is forcibly hidden from some of my audience.
I realize that I haven’t been posting much on here to begin with, but until now I’ve always considered returning to this blog at some point. Unless this issue is resolved, I will be keeping the askbox closed for the time being.
As for Ostrom, Zhenyuanlong proves nothing of the sort. Zhenyuanlong shows that we shouldn’t assume that all dromaeosaurids had Microraptor-like tail feathering, but that doesn’t make Microraptor-like tail plumage incorrect if applied to other dromaeosaurids. If anything, the lesson of Zhenyuanlong is that tail feathering was variable in dromaeosaurids, and a variety of different tail feathering can be plausibly depicted on taxa for which we currently lack direct evidence of their plumage.

We museum exhibits are free to leave after the museum closes, but there is not much point because everywhere else is also closed. That is time much better spent on plotting my next plan to take over the museum.
Besides, moving around takes too much work for me.
