Paul Hendriks reposted thisPaul Hendriks reposted thisIt's great to know that in the Apple and F1 deal, viewers will still get the multiview functionality in F1 TV’s Premium player. Built by Tiledmedia, it gets excellent reviews from viewers and every time I have tested the player, it works really well. It uses HLS-CMAF and makes extensive use of HEVC slices and frame compositing in the client to minimize the number of decoders and maintain sync. On mobile devices, it uses only one decoder. Web distribution is a bit different and has a single ABR and buffer management engine that operates across all feeds. To be able to handle DRM for web distribution, the engine hands the feeds off to multiple decoders and the streams are encoded using AVC. Every time I do a post that mentions F1 TV Premium, someone leaves a comment saying just how much they love the multiview. For the NAB Show Streaming Summit next April, I plan to invite every streaming service that has multiplayer functionality, including Formula 1, Max, Prime Video, YouTube TV, Fubo, etc., to demo how their player works and the tech they use. Paul Hendriks liked thisPaul Hendriks liked thisEine deutsche Woche... Afgelopen week stond voor mij, meer nog dan anders, in het teken van de Duits-Nederlandse betrekkingen. Sinds mijn deelname, jaren geleden, aan een studiereis naar Duitsland (georganiseerd door de Pädagogischer Austauschdienst) ben ik lid van de Nederlandse Vereniging van PAD-Alumni. Een vereniging van oud-deelnemers aan de reis die - net zoals ik - het belangrijk vinden om met elkaar in contact te blijven en ons in te zetten voor die Duits-Nederlandse betrekkingen. Wat volgde was een bijzondere uitnodiging namens de Duitse Bondspresident en zijn vrouw om aanwezig te zijn op de residentie van de Duitse ambassadeur voor een muzikale receptie ter ere van onze koning en koningin. Ik heb daar met anderen kunnen spreken die ieder op hun eigen manier verbonden zijn met zowel Duitsland als Nederland. Echt super leuk! Aan het einde van de week was ik welkom op een prachtig kasteel in Duitsland om het jubileum van de DNRV - Deutsch-Niederländische Rechtsanwaltsvereinigung e.V. te vieren. Een week waarin benadrukt is hoe belangrijk communicatie is en hoe mooi het is als mensen uit verschillende landen, met verschillende achtergronden samenkomen! Ook binnen kantoor (Jouw Advocaten) zijn wij druk bezig om de betrokkenheid bij Duits-Nederlandse zaken (meer) zichtbaar te maken, maar daarover later meer.

Paul Hendriks liked thisPaul Hendriks liked thisVandaag bezochten Zijne Majesteit de Koning en minister van Economische Zaken Vincent Karremans, het Security & Network Operations Center van KPN: de plek waar wij 24/7 Het Netwerk van Nederland draaiende én veilig houden. Het was een voorrecht om de Koning en demissionair minister Karremans rond te mogen leiden. Zij spraken onder meer met collega’s over de dagelijkse praktijk van netwerk- en securitymonitoring. Aan de hand van concrete voorbeelden lieten zij zien hoe verdachte activiteiten worden herkend, hoe de samenwerking met overheid en andere partners is georganiseerd en wat we doen bij dreiging en incidenten. Bij alles wat we doen, is Security First ons uitgangspunt. Juist in een tijd van geopolitieke spanningen, toenemende cyberdreiging en de sterke afhankelijkheid van digitale netwerken, is een robuuste en veerkrachtige digitale infrastructuur belangrijker dan ooit. Daarom investeren wij in de weerbaarheid van netwerken, de betrouwbaarheid van de dienstverlening en de expertise van onze mensen die dit belangrijke werk doen. Het ging niet alleen om KPN, vertegenwoordigers uit de gehele digitale infrastructuurketen waren ook aanwezig. Zo demonstreerde de Vodafone Foundation hun mobiele noodcommunicatievoorziening die wereldwijd wordt ingezet bij rampen. In een rondetafelgesprek spraken de Koning en de Minister met AMS-IX, The Dutch Subsea Cable Coalition, Dutch Data Center Association en KPN over de uitdagingen waar we in Nederland voor staan. Bij KPN werken we elke dag aan een #BeterInternet dat groener, socialer én veiliger is. Dat doen we natuurlijk niet alleen. We werken intensief samen met partners in de sector, het Ministry of Economic Affairs en organisaties, zoals het Nationaal Cyber Security Centrum (NCSC-NL). We leveren een actieve bijdrage aan de Cyber Security Raad en delen kennis met andere bedrijven in de Circle of Trust, om zo samen Nederland digitaal veilig en verbonden te houden. #BeterInternet #CyberSecurity #KPN https://lnkd.in/ebBtuu6N
