I’m a multi-talented, skilled, highly experienced IT expert with university degrees in both Chemistry and Computer Science. I was a part-time (sous) chef and am a certified sommelier trained at the Academy of Gastronomy in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. Most recently, I became an SCA-certified barista. I speak four languages fluently or very well.

  • I have 30 years of experience in IT in numerous roles and industries. I’ve been an architect in IT for over 10 years at large corporations. I have both AWS (5 yrs) & Azure (4 yrs) experience, I’m kubernetes savvy (CKA in progress) and have terraform skills so that I can design high-available, secure, scalable cloud-native platforms & applications but also provide a day zero landing zone. For the last 3 yrs, I have focused on Cloud (Security) Engineering and DevSecOps.
  • From 2006-2016, I worked as a part-time chef (next to my IT job) in various high-volume beach clubs and restaurants in The Hague, the Netherlands, and I used to run a pop-up restaurant in my dining room.
  • As an SCA-certified barista, I have three years of experience in setting up and running a coffee place. I can train your staff, help you achieve a more consistent, better cup of coffee and teach them the basics of how to make Latte Art.

I think out of the box by definition and determine what solutions align best with your problem. Then I choose the simplest one to solve the problem (KISS) and outline the impact as well as alternatives that I see.

Barista

In May 2017, I completed a set of professional Barista exams at the koffieschool in Utrecht, the Netherlands. They are certified by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) and recognized and valued by hospitality people world-wide.

I hired Christian for a project at Philips where we needed expertise in the field of (X)HTML, CSS, DOM, and ECMAscript, coupled with good communication skills to guide content authors in their work. He quickly became a valued member of our project, both professionally and personally. Christian is professional, skilled, communicates with ease about complex subjects, and is a nice guy :-)

Christian is one of those explorers that ventures on the frontiers of our digital world. He is spirited in creating his solutions for the business applications nobody thought of. Christian is a very pleasant person to be around with who has good leadership skills and a keen eye for opportunities. I enjoyed working with him at KPN Research and found him to be a fun person to be around with also outside of the working environment.
